Student advisors
Student advisors are your student's primary point of contact at MOHS. Student advisors monitor progress, help students stay organized and on track, and meet with students regularly throughout the year.
From dedicated advisors to student clubs and leadership opportunities, MOHS supports the whole student, not just their academics.

Academic counselors focus on the bigger picture — course planning, graduation progress, and goals beyond high school. They work with students and families to make sure every step of the journey is heading in the right direction.
Teachers are available during live office hours and via email to answer questions and support students with their academic learning. They also review and grade every Checkpoint assignment, providing detailed feedback to help students improve their work.
When students need extra help with organization, time management, or accountability, student support specialists step in with targeted, one-on-one support to help them get back on track.

Whether your student is interested in arts and crafts, music, puzzles, or just hanging out and connecting with peers, MOHS offers clubs and opportunities for everyone.

Every MOHS student is paired with a dedicated student advisor who stays with them across grade levels. It’s a relationship built over time, with support that gets more personalized the longer a student is here.
Student advisors review student progress every week and meet regularly in short video calls to check in on life, answer questions, and work on individual goals together. If a student needs help with study habits or time management, advisors connect them with the right resources.
Student advisor meetings are a required part of the MOHS experience, because we believe consistent touchpoints are necessary.
MOHS academic counselors work with students to explore their options and build a plan for life after high school, whether that's a four-year university, community college, trade school, or a career path. Students have access to a wide variety of resources and opportunities to get a head start on planning their futures:
At MOHS we strive to balance flexibility with clear and consistent expectations to ensure all students stay on track with their goals.
Each student's Learning Path generates a personalized set of daily tasks based on their individual schedule and timeline, providing a clear roadmap of the work they are expected to complete each day.
To ensure mastery of the material, students must complete all Checkpoint assignments to get credit for each course.
Regular video check-ins with the advisor are a required part of the MOHS experience. These meetings keep students connected, accountable, and supported throughout the year.
Since there are no live classes, staying in touch is how teachers and advisors know how your student is doing. Students and parents are expected to respond to outreach from their support team in a timely manner.
