Video-based lessons
Your student will go through a daily Learning Path on the MOHS curriculum platform filled with professionally produced videos and multiple choice practice and assessment questions.
The MOHS curriculum combines our award-winning video-based lessons with teacher-graded Checkpoint assignments, giving students a chance to apply their learning, get real feedback, and revise their work to truly master the material.

MOHS is a structured, asynchronous school — which means no live classes, but clear daily expectations. Students follow a personalized Learning Path, complete Checkpoint assignments for real teacher feedback, and stay on pace toward graduation with the support of advisors and teachers along the way.
Because students absorb and retain material best when they engage with it in more than one way, every MOHS course includes four types of activities.

Every lesson includes a PDF with guided notes, readings, worksheets, and extension activities that reinforce each lesson. Students can complete them on paper, digitally, or in workbooks available for purchase.
Every course has free-response assignments that ask students to apply what they've learned more deeply. These assignments receive personalized grading and feedback from teachers.
MOHS teachers host live office hours multiple times per week to support your student as needed. Office hours are optional for students who are on track with their coursework.
At MOHS, students meet weekly work requirements while maintaining the flexibility to:

Every MOHS course includes open-ended learning tasks called Checkpoints that ask students to apply what they've learned rather than just recall it. These are a required part of the curriculum and make up 60% of a student's grade. Depending on the course, a Checkpoint might be an essay, graphic organizer, short reflection questions, a video recording, or a problem set.
MOHS teachers grade and give detailed feedback on all Checkpoints, and unlike a traditional test, students are encouraged to revise and resubmit their work. It's a model that treats mistakes as part of learning rather than the end of it.
To earn an MOHS diploma, students must complete 24 credits across core subjects and electives, including English, Math, Science, Social Studies, World Language, PE/Health, Visual and Performing Arts, and Life Skills.
Through our partnership with Arizona State University, eligible MOHS students can earn real college credits while completing their high school diploma. ASU Universal Learner courses are available for an additional fee.
